Working from home amidst this global pandemic can be one of the most challenges work experiences of our lives, especially if you have young children. When you're struggling to keep all afloat during these times, it's important to take care of yourself too to ensure you can provide for your family & work demands.

Here are 5 tips to help you get through this pandemic while working at home with you children.

1. Stay organized

Each night, come up with a rough schedule for your following day, even if it changes ever so slightly each day, having a rough schedule will help you get through each day easier.

2. Set time aside

Set time aside for independent play/home schooling blocks as well as time to play with your child or children. These times are not normal and although you may not "play" with your family on a normal work day, it's also time that we will never get back. Take advantage of this extra time at home with your children & cherish these moments; enjoy them.

3. Take mental health breaks

Even if it's just a 5 minute bath or meditation session, do it. You need it & you deserve it.

4. Enjoy the fresh air.

We are all home a lot more then usual but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the fresh air. Go outside, enjoy a walk around the block or playing in the backyard. It will help you feel better to take frequent breaks & enjoy the fresh air.

5. This will end.

Remember, no matter how badly it feels like this will never end, it will. We don't know when but eventually, things will start to get better.

Enjoy the extra time you've been gifted at home with your family & pray for those who are out on the essential workforce frontlines each and every day for us, whether they're working in hospitals, nursing homes, manufacturing or stocking our food shelves. There are a lot of heroes out there working tirelessly to help keep our days running smoothly while most of us are staying home.
